Issues with the Highways England plan

Information about the Issues with the Highways England plan

  • There will be an additional 1200 vehicles per peak hour on the B1023

  • The B1023 Inworth Road is not fit for purpose.  The road is:
    • Too narrow – it doesn’t conform to Highways England minimum width specification
    • Is prone to flooding in places
    • Has a high density of domestic driveways that cannot allow for turning

The Parish Council have been telling Highways England this for 4 years, yet their proposal continues to include this route, and only now are they considering how they can make the road fit their plan…….after they                  have begun Consultation !

  • Inworth has 7 Grade II Properties & 1 Grade I Place of worship along 500 Meters of B1023, located an average of 12 Meters from the road. The impact of the proposal on these has not been evaluated

  • Hinds Bridge is key to the Highways England plan, with all A12 traffic to / from Kelvedon, Feering, Coggeshall etc having to use it. It is also key to traffic flow to/from Tiptree. the structure is old, recently needed major repairs and not fit for the projected traffic flows
